Sumatran orangutan(Pongo abelii)

Hard times for monkeys, suffering from the catastrophic loss of forests they call home. This underground orangutan is no different; now there are only nine people living in what is left of the forests of Sumatra (most of which have been lost to the fire and converted to palm oil fields), and just over 14,000 people are left. Plans to build a highway pose another threat to their ongoing operations; WWF is working with companies and governments to conserve the remaining forest.
